These are the beasties that rule the house. Ranging from 2 to 15, the cats have put the fear of Bast into the dogs that dwell here. Enjoy the antics of the wonderful feline crew, present, as well as those who will never be forgotten as they left such huge holes in my heart when they left.

Roy Hobbes on my Kyra-Look alike Horzoi!!!
I'm often asked by people, if I don't worry about my sighthounds and my cats living together peacefully. I think these pictures answer that. My greyhounds and Borzoi sleep together with the cats, snuggle, play, get baths from the cats. If they get out of paw, the cats turn around and discipline them with a swat (All but Abu, who does nothing but complain about being ran over, all the while still trying to rub on his doggy friends) I lost a cat to greyhounds, so don't get me wrong, not ALL greyhounds(or any breed of dog for that matter) can get along so well, but many do, and my cats probably wouldn't be safe if they were outdoor cats. But with proper socialization, and the realization that your cats will not be safe outside, they can be compatible. So, for your and the cat's sake, work with a reputable group that'll cat test your dogs for you, and then work with the dog. You'll end up having pictures as cute as this one. :)

This is Pandora, my last golden oldie, in one of her favorite poses, named because of her love for boxes. She thinks she's a dog tho': she comes when you whistle. She is a bluish grey, tortoiseshell tabby and is gorgeous. . I got Panda the year my 5 month old Kitten Morgaine was killed by greyhounds (1994). Although I was given Abu & Spook to replace Morgaine, I kept seeing her ghost out of the corner of my eye. I went to a co-workers house to pick up a rabbit (realized a month later I was NOT a rabbit person!) and fell in love with her torbie kitty, but she didn't want to let her go. A few months later, she told me she had to give two of her cats up. I went back to look at them, and realized Panda was perfect for me when I saw she'd been born on my birthday that year. (4/6/94) I never saw Morgaine's ghost again after Panda set foot in the house. 8/08, at almost 14.5, she was diganosed with hyperthyroidism. Unlike thyroid issues with dogs, there's a harder time of maintaining it in cats, and it can often mask such nasties as CRF or heart problems.

This is Roy Hobbes, the computer junky. He came into my house in 1993 as a yearling, when previous owner was going through a divorce and couldn't keep him. I didn't MEAN to keep him, but he stole my heart by snuggling up to me one night. He bonded with me and has taken to jumping in my lap when I'm on the computer so he can snuggle and watch the mouse and cursor. Hobbes passed on Summer of 99, at 17.

This is Abu, AKA chatterbox, AKA monkey, AKA Abu-bu. Born Feb 14, 1994, he never stopped talking. He was a wonderful little snuggle kitty, and loved to follow me around just to talk. He had a nice long life with me considering his beginnings in a collectors crap filled bedroom, but it wasn't long enough. Lost 12/26/07

Abu's brother Spook, lost back in 2001

This was the resident spook of the house, Fidget. I got her in 1991 as a kitten, she and her brother were beat, then thrown out into the mountains of Germany before they were weaned. Luckily, friend knew, took to feeding them, and eventually caught the two. I brought Fidget Home and she soon became Schatzi's companion. Her name came from the fact she fidgeted when we looked at her at first. She was my third case of CRF, makes you wonder if it was in the food I used to feed. Despite her beginnings and CRF, she still lived to be 16.5. Lost 4/8/08
