Touchet with our handsome boy Races, sire of her first litter.
A few years ago, I realized that all the performance bred
dogs
I really liked, all went back to two recent sires.
Knowing I could breed myself into a genetic corner, I approached my good friend Marie who was
on the West coast and sent her on a quest: To find a lovely dog from
performance lines, who wasn't closely related (Hopefully not related at all) to
our dogs, which would thus benefit both of our breeding programs. She started
seriously looking, spending months looking at dogs, but after prodding from
Bonnie Dalzell, she headed to Pickle Hill Kennel. Marie spent a number of
days there, spanning over about a month and finally sent me a series of
photos of a variety of beautiful bitches and I picked out Touchet. It took
some more time to get her here due to the heat embargo, but when she stepped out of the
crate, I knew she was exactly what we both wanted.

Touchet sports the breadth of chest so many Borzoi lack, as well as depth of
chest. Her topline is just about perfect and she has a nice front, with
balanced front & rear. She also has gorgeous dark eyes, and nice feet, and a
thick, plush golden coat. Her pedigree is to die for, with so many dogs that are
legends in the OFC field and the lines are now hard to find. Her pedigree
is also a map of longetivity, with both her parents reaching the age of 12, and
her mom still going strong. She definitely does not act her age, often seen chasing her
tail and even catching it!
I'd change a few things about her, but not much.
Overall, I am EXTREMELY happy with this lovely lass, who has the silliest,
sweetest temperament in the world.
She whelped her first litter for us 9/04, sired by my
Races. These
pups are everything I could ask for, and I'm very pleased with them. The pick
bitch from that litter was #1 LGRA Borzoi, #1 all breed bitch and #4 all breed
in 2007.
Her next litter is due Spring
of 08 and we can't wait!

I can not thank her co owner and my best
friend Marie Rodriguez and her breeder Fern Lockrem enough for this lovely girl! What a lovely gift to
receive!
